Family and Personal Information


On a personal note, I am a Richmond native having been born and raised in the local area. My youth was filled with extra-curricular activities and organization centered on school, church, and athletics. I graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with an undergraduate degree in Business and specialized in Business Finance, Business Law and Sales and Marketing. My hobbies include spending time with the family, traveling, volunteering with various groups that deal with childhood cancer and diabetes, and animal rescue.


My wife is employed in the health-care field dealing with all types of adult and childhood cancers. We have two children, one son and a daughter. We have two great dogs, Josh and Noah, and we love to do lots of different things.

Richmond: Charming, Elegant, Historic City in Central Virginia


Richmond is a bustling, Southern city surrounding by a charming collection of suburbs, each offering its own unique qualities, character, and feel. With such an abundance of towns, villages, and smaller communities nearby, searching for properties in and around Richmond means you can choose the very best community for you and your family.

The following are additional communities located north and south of the Richmond area:


Ashland


Ashland is a small town covering just over seven square miles and located about 15 miles north of Richmond, just off Interstate 95. Affectionately dubbed “The Center of the Universe” by its 6,000 residents, Ashland has a long history since its incorporation as a town in 1858. In 2007, the estimated median price of a home in Ashland was $190,000, and even large, elegant colonial-styled properties list for sale in the mid-$500,000 range.


Colonial Heights


The city of Colonial Heights was formed as a town in 1926 and achieved cityhood in 1960. Situated about a 20-minute drive (approximately 25 miles) to the south of Richmond, Colonial Heights – along with the neighboring cities of Petersburg and Hopewell – form what is commonly referred to as the Tri-Cities area. As of 2007, the city had a population of just over 17,000 residents. The 2007 estimated median house price of properties in Colonial Heights was $222,563. During the same time period, the city’s estimated household income $54,000.


Hopewell


Hopewell is off of the James River and is located about 24 miles southeast of Richmond, just off Interstate 295. With a charming hometown feel and just over 23,000 residents, Hopewell’s history dates back to its founding in 1613, when the area was called Bermuda City. Today, Hopewell is a thriving community where the median price of a home is about $180,000. With a choice location near the river and close enough to commute into Richmond for work or school, Hopewell is a popular choice for a hometown.


Petersburg


Petersburg is one of the Tri-Cities (along with Colonial Heights and Hopewell) that are located about 25 miles south of Richmond and home to about 32,000 residents. The median price of a home in Petersburg is about $159,000, while the median household income for residents of the city is just over $36,000 a year. The city is also popular with Revolutionary War reenactment enthusiasts, who gather each April to mark the anniversary of the historic Battle of Petersburg. There are also many Civil War museums, battlefield sites, and other commemorations located in and around Petersburg.
